Trainers

The best trainers of horse flesh get to be recgognised as the best trainers of horse flesh becuase they have the points on the board, they have trained the most winners. Conversely, the best trainers have the most horses under their care so they also likely trained the most losers.

In my experience, race horse trainers are creatures of habit and will train most horses in a similar way. As always, I try to look at the similarities and try and see when any change to the status quo appears.

The following stats are not something that will be a sole reason for backing a horse. Any runner I consider must meet certain criteria before I look at this list.

This list, along with its brother, the Jockey list, is something I use as a scale, something to weigh up a final decision, if one is needed, when two or more horses in a race have rated closely together.

These percentages are NOT Strike Rates

I do not know how many runners each trainer has had in each class/type of race(s) mentioned.

They give you the percentage of wins in the mentioned class/type of race mentioned from the TOTAL amount of winners trained by that trainer.

The Tables are for Maiden races betwen March 2020 and December 2025. It will be updated monthly.

There has been just shy of 600 trainers who have trained at least 1 winner of the over 6700 races.

The 11 trainers detailled below, are trainers to train at least 100 winners during the period and have trained 1881 of those more than 6700 races.

Yes, 11 trainers have trained just on 30% of the winners.

In the Individual Trainer reconciliations I have added the next 4 trainers to make a total of 15.

The only true figure in this Table is First Start as a horse can only have its first start once.

First and Second Ups can be numerous and a horse can have any number of Other runs especially as the race distances rise.
