Only bet for the day, a first for me at Casterton. Having the N8 as the selection. The “toppy” appears as the main danger with N’s 4,5 and 7 the drum.

Big field but not too many hopes. It’s the N10 for us in this one as the N7 is stuck with a wide draw (not so wide with half the field scratched). The N1 is a rough hope at a rough hopes price. Ditto re scratchings

Final Maiden for us at Murtoa today and in this it is the N5. N11 has been stiff the last couple and should run another placing. Can see the N12 running a good race at the hessian price.

Saturday Selections
Had a look at the guide all over the country and cannot find a great deal to get excited about. Again, a typical mid winter malaise. The new Caulfield track still has me baffled, SFA in the non maidens at Murtoa, up north looks like having dodgy weather and that left me with Adelaide, yes, Adelaide.
Going to open up the shoulders in the City of Churches which can only mean R1. Really keen on the N8 here, its form is strong. Beat home Juja Kibo 2 starts back and it bolted in last Wednesday. Probaly the BOTD.
Following up with a skinny EQ, 5,6 x 3 x 1,2,7 x 6,11
The second half of the program is a tad more difficult but have looked long and hard at it. R6, N9 is the first selection, the sniper’s dream making now regular visits to Adelaide. More Victorian’s look to train the winner of the last, R9 with the N14.
Those 3 will make up a nice little System 2/3.
